A brief summary of ‘No Country for Old Gnomes’ is a group of mythical creatures band together to stop the corrupt Kansaa Jaarli. Led by gnome, Offi Numminen, they fight and even risk their lives to save Pell from evil halflings.
I think the Middle School Pillar they develop in the story is courage, because before the group was followers but now they are leaders. For example, Offi used to always stay in his gnome house and tinker with stuff but he ended up leading the group to save Pell.
I would recommend reading ‘Kill the Farm Boy’ first because ‘No Country for Old Gnomes’ is actually the sequel to that. It is similar to many magic quest themed novels such as the Harry Potter series, the Narnia series and the Lord of the Rings series. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was really interesting and got me really hooked.
