I think the main character in the book “Hatchet'' demonstrated courage because he had to complete many challenges. Some of the challenges that he had to complete were: creating a shelter, learning how to fish and hunt by himself surviving through a tornado and also learning to start a fire, and many more with the limited resources that he had with no help at all from anyone. Another reason that I think that he demonstrated courage was that even though it was very hard and he had to try again and again , he never gave up and tried his best to stay positive throughout the entire story.
