The Candymakers by Wendy Mass reviewed by Rio Robbins

This year Logan Sweet turned twelve which means he is old enough to compete in the annual new candy contest and the life is sweet candy factory (where Logan grew up) is hosting four of the contestants. These are the contestants from the life is sweet candy factory: Logan Sweet, the Candymaker’s son. Miles O’Leary, the boy who seemed to always be half in this world and half in the afterlife. Phillip Ransford the 3rd, who always wore a full suit, and always said he was going to win even though he hasn’t eaten a piece of candy in seven years. And Daisy Carpenter (as she likes to call herself this time), they cheery girl in a dress the colour of a yellow lightning chew who will definitely surprise you. The four of them mix and match ingredients trying to make their candy dreams come true until they realize something much bigger is going on. Can Logan, Miles, Phillip, and Daisy save the day?

I think Logan shows courage because the years that his grand-father and father competed they both won so its probably pretty stressful for him, but he doesn’t cheat or try to sabotage the other contestants candy he just tries his hardest and hopes for the best and I think you need courage to do that.

I recommend The Candymakers book 2 The Great Chocolate Chase.
