The Night Parade by Kathryn Tanquary Reviewed by Karen Pan

This book is about a girl named Saki who is forced to go visit her grandmother during the summer holidays to celebrate a holiday called Obon. Everything is normal until she meets some random local kids and accidentally opens the gateway to the spirit world putting her life at risk. I think the main character (Saki) represents the middle school pillar courage because Saki is trying her best to fix her mistake every moment she gets, even if it means that she might die. I rate this book four out of five stars because at some parts I didn't fully understand what was going on in the story. Another book that I would recommend is Wicked Fox, although it is for more advanced readers.
