Dumplin’
This book report is on Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy.
Dumplin’ is written about a sixteen-year-old girl named Willowdean, who lives in a small town in Texas. She enters a beauty pageant which is run by her mother to prove she isn’t just a fat girl, while struggling with her feelings for a coworker.
I loved the humour in this book, as well as the originality of the main character, Willowdean. The book was extremely well-written, and it was easy to visualize characters with the amount of description the author included.
I would rate this book five out of five stars, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys realistic fiction. I hope you read it!
